Canadian and Israeli authorities are trying to confirm reports that one of its citizens has been kidnapped by ISIS in Syria. Gill Rosenberg is a dual Canadian-Israeli citizen who reportedly flew to Syria to join Kurdish forces in combating ISIS. A source within the Kurdish fighting forces said Rosenberg, 31, was one fo the first female foreign recruits. Rosenberg spoke to Israel Radio about her decision to fight for the Kurdish forces earlier this month. "They are our brothers. They are good people. They love life, a lot like us, really,” she said. Rosenberg emigrated from Canada to Israel in 2006. In 2009, she was extradited and jailed for participating in an international phone scam.
