ISIS claimed responsibility for car bombings at Baghdad hotels, which killed at least nine people and wounded dozens on Thursday, as well as a Friday afternoon attack on a Shiite mosque in Saudi Arabia that killed security guards who tried to stop the suspect. The Baghdad attacks used three car bombs to target the Ishtar and Babylon hotels, upscale locations that are popular on Thursday nights. In Saudi Arabia, the attack follows the group’s first-ever strike in the kingdom, carried out on another Shiite mosque exactly one week ago.
