ISIS Posts Countdown Clock for Hostages

ISIS posted a warning online that the “countdown has begun” for the execution of two Japanese hostages held in Syria, including a clock counting down to zero. The 72-hour deadline expired Friday morning, Tokyo time. “There has been no message” from the Islamic State group, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said. “The situation remains very severe.” ISIS had demanded $200 million for the two men.
