The Knesset approved on Wednesday the preliminary reading of a bill that will forbid entry to the country for advocates of a boycott against Israel. The bill, which passed 55-31, came shortly after news that the European Union will label consumer products coming from Israeli settlements. “Anyone who wants to boycott is welcome to do so from Syria,” said the bill’s main sponsor. Israeli’s interior minister acknowledged that the bill is “extreme,” but indicated the government is supportive of legislation with such aims.
