Israel Minister's Wife Sorry for Tweet

The outspoken wife of Israeli Interior Minister Silvan Shalom apologized Sunday after posting an "inappropriate joke" about President Barack Obama to Twitter. "Do u know what Obama Coffee is? Black and weak," Judy Shalom Nir-Mozes posted to her account. Her remarks sparked public backlash and prompted Nir-Mozes to remove the tweet and issue an apology. "I apologize, that was a stupid joke somebody told me," she later tweeted. Addressing Obama directly, she apologized for the "inappropriate joke," adding "I like people no matter about their race and religion." Nir-Mozes hosts a weekly radio program and regularly publishes social media posts criticizing members of Israel's political left as well as Netanyahu.
