Israeli on Sunday said its military jets had bombed attack tunnels dug by Hamas. The tunnels reportedly went from Gaza into Israel and Egypt. The decision comes as the region is still reeling from President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a move that Palestinians believe harms the prospects of a U.S.-negotiated peace deal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that the country “will respond with even greater force” if cross-border rocket attacks—which have accelerated since the U.S.’s decision on Jerusalem—continue.
