The Israel Defense Forces said it launched airstrikes targeting a group of militants near its Syrian border Sunday night. The group was allegedly attempting to transport an explosive intended for Israeli troops, according to military officials. The airstrikes were carried out against four militants who are believed to have crossed into the occupied Golan Heights from Syria. It was not immediately known from which group the men belonged, but Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said four Syrian soldiers were killed by a missile fired from Golan Heights.
