Three Arab-Israeli gunmen opened fire Friday near Jerusalem’s holiest site, killing two police officers and wounding another. Police officials said the attackers—who were all shot dead by responding officers—were aged between 19 to 29, were previously unknown to anti-terror authorities, and came from the northern Israeli city of Umm al-Fahm. The assailants reportedly opened fire as they moved from the Temple Mount (known to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif) to Jerusalem’s Old City walls. The police victims were identified as Advanced Staff Sgt. Major Kamil Shanan, 22, and Advanced Staff Sgt. Major Hail Sattawi, 30—both Druze from Galilee.
