Israeli planes carried out 13 air strikes on targets in Gaza, including four alleged weapon factories, late Thursday night. The air raid was the biggest military operation since the 2009 Gaza War and came days after two Israeli soldiers were killed in attacks by Palestinian militants in the area. According to Israel, terrorists have launched at least 20 rocket and mortar attacks on nearby towns in the last month, including one attack that killed a farm worker, further heightening tensions ahead of the air strike.
