A Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli police officers on Saturday after he allegedly stabbed three people in Jerusalem. A spokesman for the Israeli police said the man wounded two ultra-Orthodox Jewish men on the street before stabbing a police officer who chased him into a nearby home. One of the victim’s injuries was described as moderate, while the police officer and the other civilian reportedly suffered light injuries. The incident happened just three days after Israeli border police fatally shot a woman who allegedly tried to stab officers at the heavily guarded Damascus Gate. Israeli authorities say 162 Palestinians have been killed since October 2015 in similar attacks on Israelis. The Palestinian Authority has accused Israeli authorities of using excessive force in dealing with the attackers.
