Italian family frontrunner to buy out Christian Lacroix

Christian Lacroix may be going Italian: The Bortelli family, which has stakes in both the Printemps and Rinascente department stores, made a “serious offer” this week for the famed French fashion house. This newest offer trumps that of Bernard Krief Consultants, with promises of keeping 49 of the courtier’s 124 employees. Despite it’s world-renowned designs, Lacroix, which was founded in 1987, has never made a profit.
