On Saturday, Italy’s civil protection authority said an additional 889 people had died in a 24-hour period, down slightly from the day before. The country, which is roughly one-sixth the size of the U.S. now has 92,472 confirmed cases. China, the epicenter of the pandemic, only reported 81,997 cases and 3,299 deaths.
