It's been more than a year since the Costa Concordia crashed into a reef and capsized off the coast of Italy, killing 32 people, and the doomed cruise liner has barely moved from the scene of the crime--but not for long. Italy's Civil Protection agency has given its seal of approval for a plan to set the half-submerged ship upright so it can be towed out of the water and dismantled. This ambitious mission will only be carried out once safety certificates are issued and the seas near the island have been determined calm enough. Concordia captain Francesco Schettino's manslaughter trial will resume September 23.
