Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner now both have “permanent Top Secret” security clearance as of May 1, according to Axios. It was unclear whether Trump would obtain such a clearance, the website reported, due to the FBI investigating her international business deals involving the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Vancouver. Chief of Staff John Kelly downgraded Kushner’s security clearance to “Interim Secret” in late February, along with “all White House aides working on the highest-level interim clearances,” Politico reported. Trump and Kushner, who got their clearances at the same time, now may “sit in on high level White House meetings” and access the president’s daily intelligence briefing and other foreign intelligence materials.
