The woman at the center of Steven Wilder Striegel’s sex-offender case has come forward following the uproar surrounding Striegel’s role in a now-deleted scene in The Predator film. Paige Carnes, now 24, has identified herself as the “Jane Doe” in court documents relating to Striegel’s case ten years ago. Carnes released a statement to the Los Angeles Times, saying she wanted to reclaim her identity. “I was not able to speak for myself when I was 14,” she said. Carnes went on to thank actress Olivia Munn for speaking out against abusers, “I am also eternally grateful for Olivia Munn’s action. She spoke up for me. She took a stance for me. In turn she stood for all who have suffered like I have. To be acknowledged by a stranger, on a public platform about this issue is incredibly empowering.” After discovering that Striegel is a registered sex offender, Munn successfully demanded that his scene be cut from The Predator. She’s since said she was “chastised” by Fox for speaking out.
