Spotify streams of Janet Jackson’s 1986 hit single “Nasty” spiked overnight by 250% following the presidential debate, in which Donald Trump called Hillary Clinton a “nasty woman.” The comment became one of the best-known moments of the third and final presidential showdown, with internet searches and memes for the word “nasty” soaring in the following hours, along with a website, www.nastywomengetshitdone.com, being purchased by someone—reportedly not affiliated with the Clinton campaign—and redirected to the Democratic candidate’s campaign website.
