Because Mother Nature hasn’t sufficiently tormented Japan over the past decade, a super typhoon is expected to hit the country this week. Weather officials issued an emergency warning Monday that a “once in decades storm” is set to hit the Okinawa region. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said typhoon Neoguri is already gusting at around 150 mph and could grow more intense by Tuesday. Although it is not expected to be as strong as Typhoon Haiyan, which killed thousands in the Philippines last year, a JMA official warned that “this is an extraordinary situation, where a grave danger is approaching.”
