After a worrisome summer of waffling, Jason Sudeikis is officially returning to Saturday Night Live this season. The news should please SNL fans still smarting from the announced departures of cast members Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg, and Abby Elliott. Sudeikis, whose contract was up last spring, previously hinted in an interview with Men’s Journal that he was going to leave Studio 8H, but ultimately decided to remain with the show “at least until January,” SNL boss Lorne Michaels says. That timing is key: Sudeikis plays Mitt Romney on the show, so his brilliant parodies will last at least until inauguration.
