He’s got 99 problems, and now Barney’s is one of them. Jay-Z issued a statement Saturday that he will not be dropping his deal with Barney’s, despite the recent high-profile cases of the store targeting African-Americans. Jay-Z didn’t criticize the store, but rather said “I haven’t made any comments because I am waiting on facts and the outcome of a meeting between community leaders and Barneys.” He did, however, take shots at the media reports that he should respond, saying “why am I being demonized, denounced, and thrown on the cover of a newspaper for not speaking immediately?” But his non-statement wasn’t enough for Derick Bowers, 28, who launched a Change.org petition for Jay-Z to pull out of his holiday collection.
