A Chicago man was sentenced Tuesday to nine months in prison for hacking dozens of celebrities’ private online accounts and stealing information, most famously including the private nude photos of star actress Jennifer Lawrence. In addition to the prison sentence, Edward Majerczyk, 29, was fined $5,700 to cover counseling for one celebrity victim. Majerczyk pleaded guilty last year in federal court to one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information, after he was accused of organizing a phishing scheme to illegally obtain private information from his victims.
