Just one day after Steven Tyler announced, in typically loony fashion, that he won’t be returning to American Idol next season, Jennifer Lopez confirmed to Ryan Seacrest on the host’s radio program that she will also be leaving the singing competition after two years on the judges’ panel. “I honestly feel the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that you do,” J. Lo told Seacrest. “Something had to give, something has to give.” The departures of the two megawatt judges come as reports circulate that Randy Jackson may also leave the judges’ table to take on a new role as mentor on the show.
