Jersey Shore is going stronger than ever, setting an all-time MTV series record with 8.6 million viewers, 4.4 million of them in the 18-49 demographic. Not only did Shore set an MTV record, surpassing its own Season 3 premiere last week, it beat out ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. The premiere of the third season got 8.4 million viewers, and the number of viewers between the ages 12 and 34 was up 63 percent from the previous season’s opener.
