Disgraced former Illinois Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. received 30 months of federal prison time for misusing $750,000 in campaign money, while his wife, Sandi, was sentenced to 12 months for tax fraud on Wednesday. In the hearing, Jackson Jr. apologized to his family and the public, saying he "misled the American people," the media, and the House of Representatives. He called his wife, former alderman Sandi Jackson, a victim of his campaign's "culture," and asked the court to "give me her time." In February, Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit fraud and false statements.
