Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy weren’t eligible for their work in Black Swan—but at least one fashion designer has been nominated for an Academy Award. I Am Love costume designer Antonella Cannarozzi received a nomination for her work with Jil Sander designer Raf Simons. Simons collaborated with Cannarozzi to create custom shift-dresses and tailored coats for Tilda Swinton’s character, Emma Recchi. According to a statement from Jil Sander, Recchi epitomized the brand for her “bourgeois yet modern sophistication.” And Swinton herself is clearly a fan of the brand: she wore a controversial Jil Sander dress to the Golden Globes.
