Jimmy Kimmel Has a Question for Elon Musk After His Epic Trump Meltdown

???

Kimmel wasn’t sure who to root for amid the latest round of MAGA infighting.

Jimmy Kimmel wants to know if Elon Musk was paying attention.

In his Tuesday monologue, the late night host covered Musk’s post on X where he called Trump’s mega-spending bill a “disgusting abomination” and argued the congressmen who voted yes on it should be ashamed.

“Boy, when he’s off the ketamine he’s a lot less funny,” Kimmel joked.

“I mean, he’s right,” Kimmel added, “But ‘Shame on those who voted for it’?”

Kimmel sarcastically asked, “Who bankrolled these people that voted for it? I want the name of whoever bankrolled—oh, wait, it’s his name."

Kimmel showed a headline from a Washington Post article reading, “Elon Musk donated $288 million in 2024 election, final tally shows.”

“For Elon Musk to call this a disgusting abomination is really saying something, because this is the man who created this disgusting abomination," Kimmel said, showing a picture of a Tesla Cybertruck.

“Musk also tweeted that ‘Congress is bankrupting America,’” Kimmel said. He asked Musk: “Yo, Elon, bro, were you not paying attention when Trump said he was going to run the country like one of his businesses?”

Kimmel mused, “I’m not sure who to root for. It’s like Diddy versus R. Kelly.”

As for whether Kimmel sees Musk as the Diddy or the R. Kelly equivalent in this feud, Kimmel did not say. However, he did argue the rift between Musk and Trump would only grow worse from here.

“Somehow, Trump has managed to restrain himself and not lash out at Elon Musk, probably for about 288 million reasons,” Kimmel said. “But it’s only a matter of time.”

Kimmel also brought up a clip of Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt sidestepping a reporter’s question about Trump’s reaction to Musk’s criticisms of his bill.

Kimmel joked, “I love that the question is, how angry is the president going to be? ‘Is it going to be Chernobyl or Vesuvius? Is he just going to be regular mad or extra crispy?’”

The late-night host gave Leavitt credit for one thing, though: “She’s very good at pretending grandpa is a sane individual.”
