New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi will not return to the team next season, ESPN reported Thursday. Girardi’s four-year, $16-million contract just ended and both he and the team agreed not to renew. During his 10 years as manager, Girardi and the team won a World Series and made the playoffs six times. This year the Yankees were within a game of going to the World Series, but lost to the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.
