Joey “Jaws” Chestnut won the Mustard Yellow International Belt on Monday during the championship July Fourth hot dog-eating contest at New York’s Coney Island. Chestnut ousted Matt “The Megatoad” Stonie during the competition at Nathan’s Famous. The 32-year-old winner ate a record 70 hot dogs (and buns) in just 10 minutes, downing 17 more frankfurters than Stonie. Chestnut said Stonie “woke up the sleeping giant” within him last year when he beat him at the competition, breaking his streak of eight consecutive victories. Chestnut held the previous gluttonous record of 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
