Cynthia Lennon, the first wife of John Lennon and mother of Julian Lennon, has died, her family announced Wednesday. “Cynthia Lennon passed away today at her home in Mallorca, Spain, following a short but brave battle with cancer,” a statement on her website said. “Her son Julian Lennon was at her bedside throughout. The family are thankful for your prayers. Please respect their privacy at this difficult time.” Lennon was married to the Beatle from 1962 to 1968.
