It looks like former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman, who just resigned from his position on Sunday, will be joining the 2012 presidential race. On Tuesday, Huntsman gathered together a federal political action committee in order to travel and raise money in the weeks before he officially announces a full presidential campaign. Since Sunday, the former ambassador has been in meetings with congressional Republicans, potential strategists and fundraisers. Huntsman is traveling to South Carolina on Saturday where he will speak to the graduates of the University of South Carolina, and plans to meet privately with Republicans in the area during his visit. Huntsman's next stop will be New Hampshire, where voters will likely be drawn to his fiscally conservative point of view and where independents can participate in the GOP primary.
