Jonah Shacknai’s Lover Rebecca Zahau’s Death Ruled a Suicide

Rebecca Zahau found hanging naked and bound.

The mysterious death of Rebecca Zahau, 32, the girlfriend of pharmaceutical millionaire Jonah Shacknai, has been ruled a suicide, police said Tuesday. Zahau, who also went by her married name, Rebecca Nalepa, was found hanging naked in Shacknai’s mansion just two days after his 6-year-old son, Max, suffered a fatal traumatic brain injury while in Zahau’s care. Police questioned Shacknai in her death, but they are reportedly now reasonably confident it was a suicide, despite the fact that she was found hanging naked, with her hands and feet bound. Since Zahau's and Max’s deaths in July, reports surfaced that Shacknai and Max’s mother had physical fights before their marriage ended.
