Joni Mitchell Team Denies Coma Report

She remains in the hospital.

Contrary to a TMZ report saying that singer Joni Mitchell is in a coma “with no immediate prospects for getting better,” representatives for Mitchell posted a statement on the singer’s website saying the ’60s folk icon is “still in the hospital—but she comprehends, she’s alert, and she has her full senses. A full recovery is expected.” The statement clarified that the document TMZ found “simply gives [Mitchell’s] longtime friend Leslie Morris the authority—in the absence of 24-hour doctor care—to make decisions for Joni once she leaves the hospital. As we all know, Joni is a strong-willed woman and is nowhere near giving up the fight.”
