The retrial for Al Jazeera journalist Mohamed Fahmy and producer Baher Mohamed for terror-related charges has been adjourned until March 8 due to a lack of evidence, Al Jazeera reported Monday. The case was initially scheduled to resume Monday, but a second trial was ordered after Egypt’s highest appeals court, the Court of Cassation, threw out a lower court’s verdict, which found Fahmy and Mohamed guilty of helping the Muslim Brotherhood. The Court of Cassation said the the “criminal court’s verdict lacked evidence to support its ruling” and “was hasty in pronouncing its verdict.”
