The family of Joycelyn Savage, a 23-year-old Atlanta woman whose family says R. Kelly has been holding her against her will for the last four years, responded to his explosive CBS interview on Wednesday, saying the singer is “mentally destroying her.” “I know that R. Kelly is mentally destroying her, and I just want her home,” her sister said Wednesday. “I know for a fact that she is not OK.” Speaking with CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King, R. Kelly addressed his current relationship with the two women who live with him in Chicago, 23-year-old Joycelyn Savage and 21-year-old Azriel Clary, insisting their parents “sold” their daughters. “What I saw on TV this morning about the way he acted when he got upset, I don’t imagine what he does behind closed doors when he is not in camera,” the 23-year-old’s mother said Wednesday.
Savage’s parents say the disgraced 52-year-old brainwashed Joycelyn into being a part of his alleged sex cult. “Mr. Kelly stated on Gayle King’s show that Mr. Timothy Savage provided his daughter on stage at a concert that Mr. Kelly was performing at,” Savage family attorney Gerald Grigg said. “That is absolutely not true.”
