A Florida judge Friday ordered that Casey Anthony must pay $217,000 to local law enforcement to cover the cost of the search for her daughter. Anthony, 25, was acquitted of the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, but a jury found her guilty of four counts of lying to law-enforcement officials. Anthony had reported Caylee had been kidnapped by a babysitter while local police searched for the little girl before her remains were found months later. Florida Judge Belvin Perry initially said Anthony owed $97,000 for investigative costs, but he said Friday she owed an additional $119,000. Taxpayers paid for Anthony’s defense because she was declared indigent, but Perry said this ruling is a civil judgment, meaning her creditors can sue to collect any money from book deals or interviews.
