Big Brother has been taken down a size: A federal judge ruled Wednesday that the U.S. government’s warrantless wiretap of an Islamic charity in 2004 was illegal. The government was investigating the Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation in Ashland, Oregon, as part of a larger terrorism probe. The Northern California District Court held that the government should be liable for any damages springing from the illegal wiretaps.
