A New York Times profile of Usha Vance, wife of Donald Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, says she was known at Yale Law School for her sunny smile, “leftish” political views, and penchant for “tall, handsome, and conservative” men. In a broadly flattering profile, the Times describes a woman who avoided the political limelight until her introduction at the Republican National Convention last week. It points out how close she and her future husband were even in their Yale days, as per this fascinating nugget: “By the time Usha and JD were in their final year, they were so accomplished and inseparable that their fellow students referred to them as ‘Judusha,’ a portmanteau that combined “JD,” “Usha” and “judicial.” Like ‘Bennifer’ and ‘Brangelina,’ the duo had attained celebrity status, at least in New Haven.”
