Julia Marino Wins First U.S. Medal in Beijing Olympics With Snowboarding Silver

Team USA has its first medal at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing. Connecticut native Julia Marino, 24, brought home the silver behind New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, who was favored to win the slopestyle competition on Sunday. Marino performed the first ever ‘Cab’ double under flip in a women’s slopestyle event at the age of 18 and has been a favorite in X Games. She made her Olympic debut in 2018 in Pyeongchang but did not medal.
