At least 10 prospective jurors have refused to serve under Judge Aaron Persky in response to his decision to sentence Stanford rapist Brock Turner to only six months in jail, according to Mercury News. “I can’t be here, I’m so upset,” one juror reportedly told Persky while lawyers selected a jury for a case wholly unrelated to Turner’s. Another reportedly stood up and said, “I can't believe what you did.” The judge reportedly told each of the jurors “I understand” upon their protests and thanked them for their service.
