Jussie Smollett’s scheduled performance at a nightclub in Los Angeles next week will go on as planned, his representative confirmed to Page Six. Smollet will perform at The Troubadour, a West Hollywood nightclub on Saturday. The openly gay actor Smollett told police he was violently attacked Tuesday after visiting a Subway restaurant in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago. “Two unknown offenders approached him and gained his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs towards him,” a police statement reads. They then “began to batter the victim with their hands about the face and poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim,” police said. One of the offenders allegedly wrapped a rope around Smollett’s neck before fleeing the scene. Detectives are currently investigating the attack as a possible hate crime, but have no leads at this time.
