Justice Department: Trump Tower Was Not Wiretapped
President Trump claimed, without evidence, that former President Obama ordered a wiretap of Trump Tower.

The Justice Department said it has no evidence to back President Trump’s false claim that former President Obama ordered a wiretap of Trump Tower. “Both FBI and NSD [DOJ national security division] confirm that they have no records related to wiretaps as described by the March 4, 2017 tweets,” the department wrote in a court filing in response to a Freedom of Information Act request from American Oversight. “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my 'wires tapped' in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” Trump tweeted at the time.
