Kanye and Courtney Love Flee Uber Riot

Paris protest turns violent.

Paris taxi drivers blocked the roads leading to the airport Thursday, as part of protests against Uber encroaching on their business. Courtney Love and Kanye West appeared to be among those caught in the violence, with the former tweeting that she paid motorcyclists to whisk her away when demonstrators took her driver hostage. Barricades and overturned cars shut down the Périphérique—main road around Paris—and blocked three terminals at Charles de Gaulle Airport. “The goal is to block space because we are really fed up,” a union rep told AFP. Cab drivers have also been assaulting Uber drivers in recent weeks, posing as customers and attacking them in isolated areas.
