Kate Winslet was told to conceal her “belly rolls” on the set of 2023 film, Lee. Winslet made the admission in a new interview with Harpers Bazaar published Tuesday. “There’s a bit where Lee’s sitting on a bench in a bikini... And one of the crew came up between takes and said: ‘You might want to sit up straighter.’ So you can’t see my belly rolls? Not on your life! It was deliberate, you know?” Winslet told the magazine. According to the publication, Winslet stopped exercising prior to the role to achieve a “soft” look. Winslet also says she doesn’t mind looking showing her flaws onscreen. “I take pride in it because it is my life on my face, and that matters. It wouldn’t occur to me to cover that up, she said. This isn’t the first time the Oscar winner has gotten candid about what she’s been told about her body. In a 2022 podcast interview, she recalled critics saying she “was too fat” to fit on the floating door with Leonardo Dicaprio in Titanic.
