‘Katie’ May Not Get Third Season

“Staffing weirdness” since executive producer Jeff Zucker left.

Katie Couric at CNN? Anything’s possible—especially since sources told “Page Six” on Sunday that there’s speculation that ABC may cancel her daytime talk show Katie and she may join former executive producer Jeff Zucker at CNN. Sources said Katie is suffering from a “lack of leadership” after Zucker left the show to take the helm at CNN, and said there is a “staffing weirdness” and “no one is making decisions.” “The show was oversold at syndication and hasn’t lived up to expectations,” a TV source said. “Now everyone at ABC is gossiping that Katie will end up at CNN with Jeff.” Zucker has already poached Katie co-executive producer Michael Bass to be senior vice president at CNN. For her part, sources close to Couric insist she is staying at ABC.
