Longtime friends Kanye West and Jay-Z have trouble brewing in their rap kingdom. The “Watch the Throne” album collaborators faced a row when the usually loquacious Kanye went on a rant on stage during his show in London, making it perfectly clear to his fans that he was unhappy with the music industry, the Grammy Awards, and even his buddy, Jay-Z, as reported by Billboard. “I got love for the Hov (Jay-Z), but I ain’t f--king with that ‘Suit & Tie,’” said the rapper in reference to Jay-Z’s song with Justin Timberlake.

The tumultuous friendship between socialite Paris Hilton and actress Lindsay Lohan could make up an entire Mean Girls sequel. Oil heir bad boy Brandon Davis was caught on video by TMZ in 2006 calling LiLo a “firecrotch,” with Hilton guffawing next to him. The vixens had another falling out when Lohan started hooking up with Hilton’s ex, Stavros Niarchos. The pair have been seen partying together on-and-off since.

The bitter feud between the Beatles’ singer and songwriters, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, eventually led to the demise of the band, and some very public fighting ensued. In an interview in LIFE magazine in 1971, McCartney said, “John and I were openly critical of each other’s music and I felt John wasn’t much interested in performing anything he hadn’t written himself.” It was rumored that Lennon wrote, “How Do You Sleep?” in 1971 to address his qualms with McCartney, with the lyrics, “the only thing you done was Yesterday” and “the sound you make is Muzak to my ears.” The two buried the hatchet for a brief moment in 1974 with an impromptu jam session in a recording studio, but never truly reconciled after that.

Even though they were teammates, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal were enemies both on the court and off. Their time spent playing for the Los Angeles Lakers was filled with conflict due to their strong opinions and large egos. The relationship didn’t improve when O’Neal was traded to the Miami Heat. In 2008, O’Neal performed a rap mocking Bryant for not leading the Lakers to an NBA championship including the infamous jab “Kobe how’s my ass taste.” Earlier this month Bryant announced that the feud has settled, telling ESPN that he and Shaq have a good relationship now.
While they played best friends on HBO’s Sex in the City, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker’s relationship has allegedly been filled with claims of jealousy and animosity. Cattrall blamed the media for the supposed feud between the costars by telling the Daily Mail that people don’t want to believe that she and Parker get along because it doesn’t create juicy gossip. She went on to say that it’s “exhausting talking about it and a real bore.”
Katy Perry and Rihanna first became friends over a handbag but went through multiple friendship breakups due to their boyfriends. Rihanna reportedly disapproved of Perry’s relationship with comedian Russell Brand and told Perry a day before the wedding that she would not be attending. While their friendship was mended, Perry’s disapproval of Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown has become a new source of tension between the pair.
All best friends fight every now and then, even Ocean’s Eleven bosom buddies, George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The handsome actors were rumored to have a falling out over Angelina Jolie and Clooney’s girlfriend, Stacy Keibler, as reported by Daily Star. The pair, however, may not be as close as the public perceives. “We're good friends, but it's different from what people think—meaning we don't spend a lot of time together,” Clooney told the Hollywood Reporter in 2012. “He has been to my home in Como; we motorcycle together. But until recently, I hadn't seen Brad in a year."
