Kenya’s Geoffrey Mutai has won the Boston Marathon in a record-breaking 2 hours, 3 minutes, and 59 seconds. It’s not only a record for the course, it’s the fastest marathon ever run—though there isn’t an official world record for marathons due to differences between courses. Mutai’s time is almost three minutes faster than the course record set last year by Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot. Caroline Kilel won the women’s race in 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 36 seconds, beating out American Desiree Davila.
