Hope John Kerry didn’t want to relax watching Bassem Youssef. The U.S. Secretary of State arrived in Cairo on Sunday, the highest-level visit by an American since former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was ousted in July. It’s also the first visit by a senior American official since the Obama administration decided to stop shipping sophisticated arms to the country. Kerry will be meeting with Egypt’s foreign minister, Nabil Fahmy, interim president, Adly Mansour, and the defense minister, Gen. Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi, who orchestrated Morsi’s ouster. Oh and extra layer of tension: Morsi’s murder trial is set to begin Monday.
