It’s not a small undertaking: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry just landed in Israel and, apparently, is hoping to revive the stalled 2002 peace talks between Israeli and Palestinian leaders. Kerry met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who says he won’t negotiate until Israel stops construction in the West Bank. Earlier, Kerry met with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, where he told a press conference that “no peace process is easy.” According to an unnamed source, Kerry spoke to both leaders about the 10-year-old plan to normalize relations with Israel if it agrees to withdraw from the land occupied during the 1967 war.
