Kid-Killing Mom Sobs in Court

Julie Schenecker, 50, shook violently while being escorted by police before appearing in court Monday, crying softly with tissue in hand, charged with killing her 13-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter by shooting them both in the head Friday. She killed her kids, she said, because they were "mouthy" and she was tired of it. The woman's mother called the police out of concern for her daughter's mental state. Schenecker was reportedly found on her back porch covered in blood, with a note explaining that she also intended to kill herself. Her husband, an Army colonel, is en route back from Qatar and did not attend her court appearance.
