A 23-year-old convicted killer who overpowered a jail guard and fled an Illinois prison has been captured by Chicago police. Kamron Taylor escaped the Jerome Combs Detention Center on Wednesday after getting past the guard, taking his keys and fleeing in the guard’s SUV. He was found in Chicago’s South Side armed with a handgun. He was convicted in February of a fatal shooting during a botched robbery in 2013.
