In the department of unsurprising but still sad news, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has been “reelected” with 100 percent of the vote. There was no one else on the ballot. Kim also won every single vote in his district on Mount Paekdu with 100 percent turnout. On Sunday, North Koreans also went to the polls to “elect” deputies for the Supreme People’s Assembly. The vote is held once every five years. This was the first election since Kim took over from his father in 2011. “This is an expression of all the service personnel and people’s absolute support and profound trust in supreme leader Kim Jong-un as they single-mindedly remain loyal to him,” declared the country’s state-run news agency.
